Weaves out weak female players: Because female athletes are forced to work harder with hopes of obtaining the same opportunities and rewards male athletes do, more often than not, only dedicated and gifted female athletes make it to an elite level. Because few female players are willing to earn this, sports organizations and teams are able to weave out athletes that will not benefit or profit them in the long term.
Maintains focus on higher profit sports: Football and baseball remain the two most profitable professional sports in America, because of the entertainment industry both sports provide. These sports consist of all male members, with a few exceptions, making the need for women almost nonexistent in high profit contributions. If the focus of sports remains on baseball and football, there is no need to distribute the wealth of professional sports teams and associations equally among all athletes, because not every athlete contributes the same amount. Meaning, by allowing gender inequality, the sports industry is positively impacted when examining and assessing profits brought in, because of the most popular sports bringing in such a large entertainment industry and profit.
The majority of viewers and fan bases for sports are men: Gender inequality should be promoted, because without the advantage male athletes are given, a large majority of sports fans are lost. These fans promote and provide the profit necessary to conduct games, practices, etc. for sports teams. Meaning, without these fans, it is not possible to play at the same level as before. The majority of men are likely to watch sports involving their own gender, such as football and basketball, making them strong advocates for the gender inequality present in sports.
Women's sports are not as popular: On top of majority of fan bases being male, women's sports are not as popular as males. Meaning, they receive much lower media coverage and support. If there is no fan base buying tickets to games or buying into endorsement deals, there is no profit for teams as a whole, sponsors, or players. If men are earning the large majority of profit and attention in sports, women should not feed off of their achievements and benefit with equal pay, opportunities, etc.
Takes into account the biological differences between men and women: Taking into account every other reasoning behind gender inequality in sports, biological differences between men and women is one of the most relevant factors as to why gender inequality is necessary in athletics. Male's bodies are built for strength and endurance naturally, while many women are forced to train to achieve both. Meaning, men are able to achieve higher scores or accumulate more wins naturally compared to women when playing sports. Money, time, and effort is necessary for women to build up the natural benefits men have, creating a large gap between the benefits and opportunities women are provided compared to men.
